Day 1 - Friday, 17 May 2002 We woke up very early. We left the house about 3am. The Shuttle Express van took us to the airport. Our flight left Seattle about 6:30am. We were on an MD-80. We sat in the rearmost seats between the engines. It was difficult to talk. We couldn't even listen to a CD because it was too loud. The first leg of the trip ended in Chicago. We had a couple of hours to kill before our flight to San Juan. Alexis saw Mike Ditka walking to one of the gates to get on a plane. Once we boarded the plane and got going, we had to sit in line for an hour before we could take off. We arrived in San Juan at about 8:30pm local time. We didn't get out of the airport until between 9 and 9:30. We took a shuttle bus to the Hotel. We had a snack downstairs and went to bed. |
